I have had the most fun collecting these little items for almost a year and a half! I never thought I'd do anything so frivolous and yet, so wonderful!
The other day, however, I purchased Addy's Sweet Potato Pudding kit from a sweet hostboard member who is also a great ebay seller. I was just thrilled when I opened the box on Tuesday--everything was so wonderful and packed so nicely! I opened it in the car, because I had picked it up at the post office while I was out. Well, I accidentally left it in the car that evening.
Wednesday evening while we were unpacking school things, etc., out of the car, I picked up the box with Addy's little kit and the bowl fell on the garage floor and shattered. My husband came running because I screamed. He was so sweet--super-gluing it all back together, but it's ruined. I was just sick to my stomach. He suggested I call American Express, because we have buyer protection on our cards. Anyway, they were quite nice and professional and started a claim for me, but they told me the claim will probably be denied, because they cannot insure collectibles, antiques, anything that cannot be easily replaced or second-hand items.
My husband kept telling me "it's just a THING, sweety, don't cry..." I know he's right, and I'm just being silly. Oh well, something's wrong with me if I make a bigger deal of this than it really is. [img]smile.gif[/img]

It's really disappointing to have such an accident happen to something you've looked forward to, but it least it WAS a "thing" that can be replaced, though not so easily as some other things. Oh, I'm so sorry. I HATE when things like that happen. It just nags and nags at me, too, so I know how you feel. I hope you can find another bowl!

I feel for you too! My 3 year old nephew comes to my house for a visit somtimes and looses my AG things. It takes me awhile to find them. Again I'm sorry for what happened. [img]graemlins/wilted.gif[/img]
You are not alone. Things like this always eat at me too! I'm so sorry that this happened to you. I love having things "complete" and when we misplace little pieces it just drives me crazy until I can find or replace them. We'll all be on the lookout for the bowl for you!

I have seen it come up on ebay too. I'll keep an eye out for it.
I think that we all have walked in your shoes at some time or other. You are definetly among friends who can commiserate with you!
The great thing about Ebay, is that you will have another chance to obtain this item. Hooray.
Maybe a Hostboard member will read this and have just the replacement you need.
